In this article we will show-case some of the more popular features of SIMIS 3.
SIMIS 3G sports the same essential features as the popular SIMIS2G application, however the enhanced functionality of the USIM necessitates that some additional functionality is catered for in SIMIS3G.Case notes
The operator may decide the extent to which SIMIS3 scans the card for data. A quick scan extracts the majority of data that would normally be recovered form a 2G SIM card. A full scan extracts data from the complete file structure as defined in the 3GPP specifications of the USIM. A further feature is offered for data extraction from proprietary files that may reside in the USIM. The USER Scan allows the operator to define the range of files that data is extracted from.
Watch List
The watch list is a feature that circumvents some, post data recovery, database searches. The watch list allows the entry of up to 10 'most interesting numbers'. With the watch list loaded, SIMIS3G will 'watch' all card data as it is recovered and should a mobile number be retrieved that appears in the watch list an alarm is sounded and a visual warning is presented to the examiner.
USIM Dump
SIMIS3G provides for the examination of the complex file structure of the USIM, via a directory tree view, called SIM Dump. The SM Dump allows the experienced operator to browse the file structure of the USIM, SIMIS3G displays the file location, header , raw hex, decoded ascii and additional information associated with the file under examination.
