    SIMIS is the original forensically sound GSM SIM data recovery tool. Originally commissioned and specified by the Metropolitan Police Service - London. SIMIS has been in production since 1997. SIMIS is used extensively by forensic examiners in the UK, USA, Europe and many other teritories around the world.

    Overview

    SIMIS will extract data from a SIM card in a forensically sound manor and provide that data in a convienient HTML report and exportable text file. SIMIS is part of the SIM Tools suite. SIMIS2 handles the interrogation of Phase 1, 2 and 2+ GSM SIM Cards, now commonly referred to as 2G.     Features

    This article will show case some of the more popular features of SIMIS 2G Watch List The watch list is a feature that circumvents some, post data recovery, database searches. The watch list allows the entry of upto 10 'most interesting numbers'.     SIMIS3G reports are generated during data extraction, reports have been designed to be easy to read, print and transport. A CSV format file is available to ease import into third party applications. SIMIS reports do not require a proprietary viewer, reports can be viewed in any standards compliant browser.     Recover Deleted SMS

    Will SIMIS recovery deleted short messages YES! SIMIS will enable the examiner to view the all files stored within the sim / usim. SIMIS will extract raw data from the SIM card, including the headers that determine how that data should be interpreted. Short message services files can be marked as deleted by the mobile user or by mobile applications. In most cases these messages are not overwritten immediately.     Installation

    Getting SIMIS up and running is very easy - SIMIS2.0 is shipped on the SIMTools CDROM. All of the SIMTOOLs products are supplied on a single CDROM. Your license key prevents unauthorised use of products on the CDROM that have not been purchased. Insert the CD-ROM and allow Windows autorun to start the simtools application. If you have autorun disabled, simple locate and run simtools.exe on the CDROM.
